What Causes Bloody Tissue In Urine And Pain In Lower Back Muscles?

Yes I am 1 year into menopause, did a run up a mountain race, and my low back muscles killed me for a few days, now twice I have had pelican cramping and a few time when I urinated I had a small piece of tissue with slight blood on it. What could it be?

Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Pain in lower back (loin) and blood in urine should not be ignored.
2. It could be a urinary tract infection. Small piece of tissue could be red blood or white blood cell casts due to infection. You will require a urine examination, particularly microscopy. If positive, further culture and sensitivity tests necessary for identification of appropriate antibiotic.
3. If the urine examination is negative for infection, ultrasound abdomen necessary to rule out renal tumor. Palpation by your doctor may show a mass in this condition. Get urine microscopy and ultrasound abdomen. Further treatment will depend on lab findings.
