What Causes Blood In Urine?

My grandma is in her 80 s. When she urinates it is painful and coming out like jelly and some blood is coming out. The nursing home said they ran test and can t find any thing wrong with her. Common sense tells me that their is definitely something wrong. She has Parkinson, leukemia, and a trach. They also bath her once a week. She cant get out of bed by herself or walk to the wash room. I just included her physical state and weaknesses to help you evaluate the urinary problem.

Hello,

The most possible reasons of Your Grandmother complaints are:

Bladder infection which can cause burning or pain with urination, blood in urine, fever and pain in the lower part of abdomen. Urinating more often than usual. Catheter can also lead to infection.

Kidney stones - symptoms like: pain in the back below the ribs, which spreads to the lower abdomen and groin, pain on urination, blood in urine, urinating more often than usual.

Kidney infections - symptoms like chills, pain in the lower back.

Tumor in the kidney - symptoms like blood in urine, loss of appetite, anemia, lump in abdomen.

In my opinion the doctor should check Your Grandmother to find the reason of blood in urine and pain. Also there is a need to make an urine test to find bacteria. If these are present it can mean an infection. Next steps are: kidney ultrasound, computer tomography (CT) scan and cystoscopy.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help
