Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 72 year old healthy female. Two days ago I started having blood in my urine. Today about 9 hours ago I was unable to urinate. Finally have urinated a few times after trying very hard and I fill the stool with blood. That seems to becoming better but I cannot urinate.
Blood in urine/stool is commonly caused by severe UTI infection. It may also be indicative of kidney infection, kidney stone, some genetic disorder (sickle cell anaemia), caeco-rectal cancer or due to some drug interaction.
Stop taking all medications. Visit ER, get physically examined. You should get CBC, Urinalysis, Stool & Urine (R/E & C/S) along with Imaging tests done.
Your treatment (medications or surgery) will depend upon the factor detected that is causing the symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
