What Causes Blood In Stool While On Cephalexin, Tylenol-Codeine, Zoloft And Effexor?

I recently broke my foot due to a car running it over, my doctor put me on cephalexin 500mg and tylenol-codeine 300/30mg. I was already taking zoloft 100mg and effexor 75mg daily. I ve been experiencing moderate amounts of bright red blood in my stool. Could the meds be causing this? I ve reached the end of my cephalexin and acetaminophen-codeine supple and will not be refilling. Will this problem likely go away?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

We have to rule out possibilities like gastroenteritis.

As a first line management, you can take laxatives like lactulose for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist you can consult a gastroenterologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
