What Causes Blood In Phlegm Post Treatment For Pneumonia?
my dad had pneumonia and took antibiotic for 10 days thought he was feeling better now he said he feels like he has a cold back and when he coughs and clears his throat he occasionally coughs out blood? he is 85 and they did an xray just last thrusday to recheck and I have heard nothing

Sputum for AFB (TB) or CBNAAT is good. Do gram stain examination, culture and sensitivity test for sputum or may be deeper secretions bronchoalveolar lavage, fungal examination with CT of the chest. Consult with a chest and TB specialist.
