What Causes Blood Drainage From Navel On Using Q Tip?

For the first time, I used a q-tip to clean out my belly button and there was some blood on the end of the q-tip. Is this something to be concerned about? I have never had this before, and there does not seem to be any dried blood or any evidence of blood.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The skin over the naval is quite sensitive and it can get damaged and thus bleed if injured.
Presence of dried blood is unlikely if there is no blood collection in the naval region in recent past.
Dirt can easily get impacted in the naval region, thus removal of dirt can also cause bleeding.
If the bleeding is slight, you need not worry but if bleeding is troublesome, you may consult your primary healthcare provider for management.

Thanks and take care
