What Causes Bloating With Lack Of Pressure In Bladder After Taking Estradiol?

Hi, I take Toviaz for Overactive Bladder and Estradiol pill .5 cut in half once a day. I take the Toviaz at Noon and the Estradiol at 6 pm. When I take the Estradiol, I feel very bloated and can t release my urine until about 8 hours after taking the Estradiol. After that, I urinate just fine the rest of the day. I am 68 years old.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Possible gastritis after estradiol is due to GI upset, can be countered well by intake of antacids or PPI. The urination issue is due to muscarinic receptor action at bladder wall and same must be discussed with your consultant.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
General Surgeon
