What Causes Bloating Even After Stopping Of Drinking Vodka?

I stopped drinking Vodka 5 days ago, I was drinking anywhere from a 1/2 pint to pint a day. I turned 40 and decided it should stop ( I quite smoking 5 years ago this July cold turkey with no real symptoms). I took a week off of work and am just spending time with my dog, eating healthy, drinking A LOT of water, reading and watching movies. My symptons have not been that bad, 1st day I felt naucious all day. 2nd day was a bit better then that night I was sweating like crazy, my blanket and pillows where soaked. I was freezing but hot at the same time. Today is my 5th day and I feel actually really good. Took 4 nice long walks with my dog, made home made soup, and again, drank a lot of water. My skin looks amazing! My question is, I feel so bloated and fat today. I thought you should feel bloated after you drink, not when you stop? Is this normal? I m in no pain, I did have a lot of gas and diarea today, but otherwise thats it. When you stop drinking, can it bloat you? Thank you.

hi
bloating is due to Gas collects in your digestive tract as a result of swallowed air and the breakdown of undigested food (esp Rich in carbohydrates like sugar, honey etc ) in the colon. since you have history of alcohol intake (period not mentioned) so you must get yourself checked up with your doctor to rule out any pathology. otherwise it is advisable that you should consume low carbohydrates, adequate amount (not high) fibres, keep up the walk, avoid fatty food and overeating, eat your meal slowly with proper chewing and addup yogurt, buttermilk and probiotic supplements in your diet.
