What Causes Bloating And Fluttering Sensation In Pelvic Area After Having Depo Shots?

Hi, I m on the depo Provera birth control shot and my first shot was March 5th. I had sex 1 day after the shot. Now I just had my second shot a week ago and feel weird flutters in my uterus and bloated. also, I m bleeding (mostly spotting) for 3 weeks now. Was the birth control active one day after when I had sex? Why is the bleeding not stopping?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If you first the shot within the first five days of your menstrual period then you would have been protected from the time the shot was given.

If you was given outside of this time, it is normally advised that additional protection should be used for the first 7 days.

Depo and other hormonal contraceptives can sometimes cause spotting.

Since it has been on going for 3 weeks , your doctor can give you medication to stop it for occurring.

I hope this helps
