What Causes Blisters Between The Toes Of The Left Foot Despite Using Clindamycin?

I went to urgent care this morning as last night I had what looked like a white blister between the fourth and fifth digits of my toe on my left foot. He took a culture and I m waiting for the results. He said it could be either herpes or shingles and started me on two medications: clindamycin and valacyclovir as it hurt a little and the red rash was spreading. The rash has not spread but my foot started swelling up tonight. I am elevating my foot and icing it. Is there anything else I should be doing? I m taking the Rx s as prescribed.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As already there is prescription of antibiotic for gram positive bug coverage and anti viral medication, I would recommend:
- Addition of diclofenac or ibuprofen with serratiopeptidase in drug basket if no history of drug sensitivity
- Control of blood sugar
Regular visit to your doc and further medications as per the culture report results.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
