What Causes Bleeding While Lifting Weights After Treating Polyps?

i had an colonoscopy a year ago, after that i was seen for polyps, i had a couple of sessions. Until this last week, when i lifted something weighting 5-10 pounds, it seems that i bleed, but the last Md ask not eat or drink anything red, purple, chocolate. i think i drank something like raspberry and mix dairy and then i woke up later and vomited it all out. I been eating soups, teas, and 7--up, it seems to help. Is there anything else i can do for myself.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Increased intraabdominal pressure can provoke bleeding. Avoid straining and weight lifting. If symptoms persist better to consult a gastroenterologist and plan for a repeat colonoscopy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
