What Causes Blackening On The Shoulder Blade Regions?

my skin under my shoulderblades, on both sides of my spine has turned black. probably two to two and half yrs. ago. now this blackening is spreading. i am white and have never had injury to the skin in this area. i have shown it to two docs who have no clue. what can this possibly be?

Hi.. blackening in the area as you described could be due to macular amyloidosis. This is a condition in which you get black colored spots over your skin. Generally this condition is asymptomtic but gradually progressive. It is a primary cutaneous condition which wont affect your body in any other way or any other system.
Treatment involves depigmenting creams over the area like hydroquinone 2%,
