What Causes Black Worms In Urine?

My husband had a UTI about 5 weeks ago . This week he collected a dead black worm in his urine . Actually 4throughout the week . He claims they were dead because he took pottasium tablets as he said he felt dehydrated when he fell sick with the UTI . Am I supposed to believe him ? He says he feels better every day now that he passed the dead worms and equates it to the potassium tablets . What does he have ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

To answer your question, I need to have the full urine test report together with a photo of the dead black worm he supposed to have collected from his urine sample.

I think he might have passed sludge or Stone covered with mucus that was noted as black worm.
As he has a recent history of UTI, I think he is still having UTI with mild symptoms.

Advise to increase fluids intake especially plain water with cranberry supplement.

Hope this helps.
