What Causes Black Stool And Blood In Stool While Treating Salmonellosis?
I had frank blood on my toilet paper after wiping my rectum the last couple of days and this morning my stool was black but have no pain or discomfort. I have just gone through a severe salmonella poisoning with 2 courses of antibiotics which I will be finished in 5 days. Admittedly I have not felt great for a while with intermittent nausea with no vomiting. I have been taking large doses of probiotics, in the high billions and understand it will take a while for my gut flora to get in balance again. Do I need to go to the doctors due to the blood and dark stool?
