What Causes Black Spots On Tongue After Taking Viekira Pak And Ribavirin?

I have been HIV+ for the last 23 years, and have really had no bad compilcations from the diease.I have been undectatable for so many years that I don t remember when I was first told that I was undectatable.But recently I have started to take meds for HEP C which I have had for the same amount of years.They have me on a Veikra Pak alone with Ribivarin and it seems as though that since I have started these meds . That I have started to develope black spots on my tongue, They aren t dark yet..at the moment they are very light but I know they are there and what can be done about it.

Understanding your concern.

The symptoms you mention in query are alarming . I would suggest you to consult your doctor without any delay . The dark spots you mention in query could because of few reasons . They can occur due to Viekira Pak as one of its side effects , due to to hairy tongue or can also occur due to any cancerous condition in oral cavity . Doctor may examine physically or may take biopsy . Till then do warm saline rinses and betadine rinses , avoid hot and spicy food and dring plenty of water .
