What Causes Black Out In The Vision After Consuming Wine?

After consuming a fair amount of wine, I totally blacked out for about 10 minutes. I continued to act normally, dancing, talking but I have no memory of it. Shortly, flashes of consciosness returned and eventually(few minutes) all normality returned. Could it have been something other than the wine? I have had no symptoms since , also no wine!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Since these kinds of "blackout" episodes are common and well known to occur with alcohol use, and the only time it happened was when you did drink a fair amount of wine, I would consider this to be from the alcohol.

If it happens again, then I would certainly get evaluated with an exam and probably a scan of your head, but otherwise, I would just avoid drinking to that extent again.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
