Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A small black mark appeared on my right hand and then a few days later another one appears but extremely small. They don t hurt or itch and they appear to be under the skin. It s completely flat and doesn t have any other characteristics except it s a perfect, small black circle. Should I be concerned?
Black mark under the skin commonly occurs when melanin can become clumped together and result in flat, brown spots on the skin. It is hyperpigmentation that causes darkening of the skin. Avoid direct exposure to sun to prevent further damage. It can also be due to aging process, deficiency of vitamin B6, B12, E.
Take supplements. Get clinically assessed by a dermatologist to ensure that the dark spots are not cancerous. Most of such spots are not harmful, some may want to get it removed for cosmetic reasons. It can be treated with cryotherapy, laser therapy, age spot removers, etc. Get treated at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
