What Causes Black Discoloration Around A Skin Graft On The Upper Lip?

My husband had surgery to remove basal cell carcinoma and replacing the are with skin grafting. The are infected was upper lip, where almost all the lip and under the nose are was gone, they cleaned it properly, took skin graft from the wrist with an artery and did reconstruction. First two days everything was normal and looked good. Third day everything, the whole graft become black. I don t understand what and why it has happened.

Blackening of graft is not a good sign you should contact your doctor so that unsuccesful grafting can be managed and also if this graft is alive then proper care can help it to grow
