What Causes Bad Taste In The Mouth After Taking Terbinafine?

I am taking terbinafine 250 mg for toenail fungus. I have been taking it for about 2 months. Over the last month, I have unusual taste in my mouth. Food does not taste good. I read that this is a side effect and need to know if this is something that I should quit taking. The toenail fungus is not getting any better, but the bad taste of food is quite unpleasant.

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have bad taste in the mouth after taking Terbinafine for two months . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like dehydration . poor oral hygiene , dental infection , neurological and side effects of this medicine . But in your case it seems to me that your anti fungal medicine is causing such symptoms as its side effects as you also mention in query . Aslo 2 month is very long duration and you should take this medicine only on prescription od doctor . I would suggest you to maintain proper oral hygiene , do warm saline rinses , suck on sugar free mint candy and consult doctor for your for diagnosis of your toenail.
