What Causes Arm Pain While Bending Post Multi Level Fusion Surgery On L1-S1?

I have hx of multi-level fusions (L1-S1) last surgery Dec2014. For the past 2 months I have had nerve pain in my hand when my arm is bent. Relief is achieved by dangling the arm by my side. Night is particularly painful and interrupts sleep by requiring me to dangle my arm on the side of the bed. I am scheduled for an EMG. My question is regarding the possibility of yet another disc level being impinged. Thank you LRoger, RN

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello! Thank you for writing us here.
Pain like that is most likely due to spondilitis or a prolapsed vertebral disc or stenosis.
I would suggest you to see an orthopedic doctor who can treat your condition. You'll need an X ray to be done for your proper diagnosis.

Best regards,
Dr Gunjan
