What Causes Appetite Loss And Nausea?

My husband has had stomach trouble for three months. Had upper GI and gall bladder scan that show nothing. He has type 2 diabetes and has had the insulin pump for some time. His sugar numbers are running lower since he has lost almost 50lbs through this spell. He is almost always cold. His feet stay cold even when he is otherwise warm. He had loss of appetite but is eating fairly good now. He doesn t feel like vomiting but has discomfort more than severe pain. Forces himself to do a few things when it isn t to bad but much of the time doesn t feel like doing anything.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is due to severe acid reflux and associated gastritis.

As a first line management, you can take antacids like omeprazole or pantoprazole for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist you can consult a gastroenterologist and plan for an endoscopy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
