What Causes Anxiety While On Effexor?

My husband says that since I ve been on Effexor 150 mg since last July I have become more passive and too mellow to the point that I don t have the ambition to clean the house or pay the bills. I am on 150 mg after having several episodes of severe anxiety attacks that finally put me in th E.R. and in then the hospital for several days. At which time the hospitalist asked me how long I had been on my antidepressant -- Brupropion 200mg I told him for 17yrs. He shocked and very concerned and put me on Effexor. My question is my husband correct with his concerns? Vivian Brunberg

cannot say in your particular case, but generally, this is the other side of panic attacks and can occur with most any antidepressant that treats pain and/or anxiety.

Of course there is the real question of whether a drug effect is the production of a problme or the removal of one. In this case, the question is whether there is production of lack of ambition or whether you've been running on anxiety and with the removal of anxiety you no longer have motivaion of most anything.
