What Causes Anxiety And Dizziness While Having Mitral Valve Prolapse?

Hi, I have been diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse after having tachycardia, chest pain and palpitations. I know it is usually caused/accompanied by an autoimmune or other disease. I have had a resting heart rate of 90-100 my whole life, my feet turn purple but are not cold, my toe nails are very dry and do not look pretty, I have no stamina when it comes to running and tire very easily. My blood pressure is normal and even on the low side though. I get dizzy upon standing, and get very tired and dizzy if in the heat while standing for to long. I have not lost or gained any weight. I get angry and irritable super easily, my anxiety is through the roof, and my sex drive is non existent. Any thoughts on what this could mean? Thank you!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

If a similar patient comes to my opd I would suggest him to be relaxed. actually mitral valve prolapse is common in many people and is of no worry at all unless its making problem to your daily routines.

Make sure you drink water properly. try to remain calm. its normal for any person to get annoyed fast when he is suffering from a health issue.

So don't feel you are diseased. happily live your life and you will surely notice changes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Jilu Joseph, General & Family Physician
