Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
So it's been a week since I had blood in my stool and when I wiped, then I never had it again. I went to the dr. the day after and they saw a fissure. They gave me miralax as my lower left hurt and I couldn't poop. Well a week later today I still poop and it is sometimes small or long but always soft. And I always feel like I have to go and the left side pain is still there- what should I do? I am at college and prior to this we were out of toilet paper so I held in my poop an extra day which probably caused the fissure. Also, when I poop it smells bad- but its improved, not the pain
HI. Thanks for a good history. You may need an additional antibiotic and a pain-killer to get early recovery. Sitting in a tub with warm water ( Sitz) bath before and after stool helps to sooth.
