What Causes Anal Bleeding?

I have bright red anus bleeding which appears to be coming from the capillaries just at the opening. Most times it crops up when I am walking at which time it presents with an itching. When I got to the bathroom to wipe, it is indeed bleeding. What is it?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptoms seem to be related to hemorrhoids.
Some advices that I can give to you are:
-Add fiber to your diet slowly to avoid problems with gas.
Use topical treatments.
-Apply an over-the-counter hemorrhoid cream or suppository containing hydrocortisone, or use pads containing witch hazel or a numbing agent.
-Soak regularly in a warm bath or sitz bath.

Hope my answer was helpful.
Kind regards!
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
