What Causes An Infant To Cry At Nights?

Hi doctor my 45 day old baby cries for 8 to 10 hours give or take at night.. Even during the day she wakes up sometimes but mostly sleeps thru the day. Our doctor told to give atarax drops 7 drops to help with her sleep if we are desperate cuz it s unusual for an infant to stay up for more than 12 hours straight.. My baby feeds well and is urinating and passing stool well. Is it safe to give atarax? What other safer alternative do I have? And yes I always check for wet diapers make sure baby is warm and well fed but still she is crying thru the night till morning pls help

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, excessive crying in neonates needs to be looked for certain common conditions like respiratory distress, cardiac disease, allergic conditions and last but not least it could be crying tendency but for all of these better to see the neonatologist hope this information helps.
