What Causes An Altered Sense Of Taste And Smell While On Macrobid?

I STARTED TAKING MACROBID ON TUESDAY 100 MGS TWICE A DAY. I HAVE A TASTE IN MY MOUTH AND A SMELL IN MY NOSE THAT IS CHEMICAL NATURE. THAT S THE BEST WAY I CAN EXPLAIN IT. COULD IT BE THE MACROBID? I JUST NOTICED THE TASTE AND SMELL ON WEDNESDAY EVENING.

Macrobid contains 'nitrofurantoin', which is an antibiotic that helps to fight bacteria in the body.
It is used to treat urinary tract infections.
Altered taste and smell what you are experiencing is due to side effects caused by intake of the medication. These side effects would subside once the course of medication is complete.
Kindly drink good quantity of water and fluids, which will help to flush out its metabolites quickly and helps to overcome such side effects.
