What Causes Acid Taste In The Mouth And Throat?

Hi..I have problem with my throat and tongue..too much irritation in my throat..specially after taking foods..Food is taking much time in digestion and feeling some acid in my throat and sometimes in my mouth..also there is burning sensation in throat chest and stomach...feeling uncomfortable always..and there is some weird taste in my mouth every morning when I woke up..Pls give me a suggestion..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain irritation in throat along with burning sensation in chest, stomach and throat and even in mouth along with weird taste in mouth especially on waking up..

Well, all these symptoms are indicative of acid reflux and it leads to regurgitation of acid and food particles from stomach to food pipe and throat..
It leads to Acid taste in mouth due to taste of acid..

I would suggest you to consult a Gastroenterologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like upper G.I Endoscopy can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

You can be advised to take Proton Pump Inhibitors like Omeprazole or Pantoprazole..
Take antacids like Milk of magnesia..
Avoid spicy food and drink plenty of water..
Always take walk after meals and take your dinner atleast 2 hours before sleep..
You should sleep with head slightly raised as compared to feet..
