Hello. My husband is having heartburn. Worse than usual. His normal medications are Apixaban 5mg-2x, Metoprolol 25mg-2x, Lisinopril 40mg-1x, Atorvastatin 40mg-1x, Diltiazem 240mg-1x, Low Dose Aspirin 81mg-1x. When he has heartburn he takes Tums as he was told he could/should not take Pepto Bismol. And it usually works fine. However, today he has had a number of the Tums and they are not doing a thing to help. And I have noticed him taking the Tums much more than he normally has in the past. So my actual question is, would it be ok for him to take a Rite Aid maximum strength acid reducer famotidine tablet 20 mg? He has a doctors appointment on the 30th of this month and we/I will speak with the doctor about this problem but wanted to know if it would be ok for him to take the Rite Aid brand Acid Reducer, once a day, until he sees the doctor.?
