Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 70 yrs old female who is experiencing an ache in the groin right where the right leg meets the pubic area. It is not constant. Recently I carried a heavy backpack ( laptop and cameras) and lifted a heavy suitcase. There are no red spots and no swellings or lumps. The ache goes away when I change positions or when I massage it for a minute or less. I am overweight, too. Is this just a strain? I think it might be but ice once had a kidney stone. Wanted to check about that. Thanks so much.
Hi, From history it seems that at this age there might be having degenerative changes in the hip joint and muscles. This might caused stiffness and spasm of hip joint muscles while lifting heavy object. As there is h/o kidney stones, renal colic should keep in mind as well. In such case go for routine urine check up to rule out renal stones. Meanwhile take some analgesic with muscle relaxant medicine. Ok and take care.
