What Causes Absence Of Fetus Growth In Pregnancy?

hi doctor, my wife was 8 week pregnant and the doctor had adviced to abort the baby because the fetus was not growing and the cardiac activity has also stopped. It was the first baby for us. Could you please explain why this has happened. And how we can avoid this in our next child planning?

Hi, thanks for writing..
There can be many reasons for missed abortion like chromosomal anomaly of the fetus or decreased blood supply to the fetus. Unhealthy fetus manifest as missed abortion.. So in the next pregnancy start on ecospirin as soon as the heart beat appears and continue till 36 weeks.. If there is a repeated missed abortion, then mther should be screaned for any autosomal disease, APLA screaning.. Right now just take folic acid and plan your pregnancy after 3 months..
