What Causes Absence Of Fetal Heartbeat During 9 Weeks Of Pregnancy?

Hi, i was 9 weeks pregnant and unfortunately the baby doesnt have a heartbeat, doctors confirm it as non viable pregnancy and was prescribe to take cytotec to induce miscarriage i bled a lot for about 6-7 hours but after that only light spotting until now, 3 days after i still have abdominal cramps at times a bit severe but it comes on and off, is this still normal? I will have an ultrasound scheduled after 2 weeks to check if i have complete the miscarriage.

I understand your concern.
Some abdominal cramps after an abortion are normal since your uterus is now coming back to its normal size and the pregnancy changes are reversing.

The baby not having a heartbeat can be due to several factors.If this is your first abortion i would advise you to not worry as abortions most of the times are usually isolated incidences.
However,if you have had multiple abortions in the past a detailed work up which will include your blood tests to check for antibodies(APLA) and Ultrasound of your uterus to check for any abnormality will be needed for which you should consult your OBGYN.
