What Causes Absence Of Embryo In The Fifth Week Of Pregnancy?

hello...According my LMP which Aug 11th...I am supposed to be 7 wks pregnant. I had my 1st ultrasound last wk and they only saw a sac and stated I am under 5 wks. This morning I had another ultrasound because I have been spotting and feeling discomfort. By the way I am HIGH risk. This will be my 11th pregnancy and only 1 full term and the rest is miscarriage. Anyways, this morning ultrasound showed the yolk sac and measured 5 wks and 3days. I have been looking at other apps and from my history at 5 wks I should be able to see the embryo. Is that normal not to see an embryo. I am very paranoid.

O First of all sorry for your predicament and take heart never give up be doctors friend and all will b well of the possible . At your gestation there could be possibily of a diagnosis called blighted ovum. This is a stale ovum within th uterus that has abnormalities was not properly ferttilized and cannot progress to term. Orthewise you need to see your gynaecologist in person. Thank you.
