What Causes Abdominal Pain On The Left Side After An Injury?

Hi. I was carrying a large cutting board when I clipped the corner of a wall at a fast paced walk. The corner of the cutting went into my side/waist. By the end of the day it was bruised, underneath of the bruise is a knot. This happened a little over a week, 2 tops. The bruise is almost gone but the knot is still there and the same size as day 1. Today I was having pain on my right side then my left side where the injury is. I m still experiencing pain on my left side. My concern is that a may have torn my intestines. My insurance doesn t cover a lot and I can t afford a high doctor. I would appreciate any help you have to offer. Thank you for your time.

Hello,

Since it is already 1 week, I don't think it is due to intestinal injury. If it is due to intestinal injury, your symptoms would be worse and you have to get admitted.

So no need to worry much for intestinal injury. The knot is mostly blood clot in the skin. It will dissolve by its own in 1-2 months.

But if you really want to rule out intestinal injury then you need to get done ultrasound and CT Abdomen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
