What Causes Abdominal Pain, Frequent Bowel Movement And Nosebleeds?
Hello. My daughter is an 8yo. We were once told she may be diabetic but then nothing after that for the past 2 physicals. She is taller than most children her age and she is about 20 lbs overweight. She eats much of the same foods as her older brother and myself but she seems to be putting on weight very fast. She has a history of frequent nosebleeds. Lately, she has been complaining of a sudden headache with stomach cramping. She has always had abdominal discomfort on and off since she was really little. She began to have nosebleeds again today with a headache that comes and goes, and abdominal pain and frequent bowel movements that are somewhat normal in appearance. Could these symptoms be related to possible diabetes?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Abdominal pain and headaches can be related to diabetes. The nosebleed is unlikely tied to diabetes. Although far-fetched, recurrent nosebleeds and abdominal pain could be Henoch-Schönlein purpura or Wegener's granulomatosis. She should see a doctor again.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
