What Causes Abdominal Pain, Blurred Vision And Lightheadedness When Diagnosed With Infectious Mononucleosis?

I was diagnosed with Mononucleosis last night at an Emergency Room. My liver enzymes are elevated above 300 and there is so much bilirubin in my urine that is looks brown in color. I have severe abdominal pain, blurred vision and lightheadedness. My body is also almost too weak to stand. My doctor told me to take ibuprofen and ride it out. Is there anything else I should be doing? I feel too sick and weak to not do anything else about my medical diagnosis.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I understand that mononucleosis can be very devastating especially due to the fatigue and pain. Unfortunately, there is no specific treatment for it but just supportive. This means you will need to take pain medications, make sure you eat and drink well and rest as needed. If there is any worsening of the symptoms you will need to see your doctor.

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
