What Causes Abdominal Pain And Tiredness With A History Of Abdominal Abscess?

Last year I developed an abdominal abscess after a partial hysterectomy. It eventually had to be drained using a tube through my back. The last few weeks ago, Ive had a lot of the same cramping, tiredness, pain during sex, and Im wondering if it is possible for the abscess to return, or could it be something else?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Read the history and understood it.

There was an abscess of the abdomen after hysterectomy which was drained successfully last year.
Now you have a problem of cramping, tiredness, pain during sex for the last few weeks.

The probable diagnosis can be Intestinal obstruction with attendant problems of peritonitis or so or there may be a problem with the ovaries if they were left.

I would suggest you the following:
X-ray of the abdomen in the standing position.
Ultrasonography
CT scan to prove or rule out
Enteroscysis

All these investigations will lead to the exact diagnosis and the treatment then can be planned accordingly.

Consult a General Surgeon for clinical examination and investigations correlation to come to the final diagnosis
