yes, i had the J pouch surgery in 1986. have done well with the surgery. but now every time i eat a meal i become gassed up to the point that it is painful on I think that is where the stomach is connected to the small intestine , on the right side by my sternum. opposite side of the heart. this just started about a month ago. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

This looks to me like if you have some peptic ulcer disease. As it is not for a long time, I would advise you should take some anti-ulcer drugs like Omeprazole for 14 days, you can also use some antacids for few day. Also try to avoid spicy foods for some time. If it settles that would be fine, otherwise if it persists then you can go to see you doctor for proper evaluation.
