What Causes Abdominal Pain After Taking A Contraceptive Pill?

Hello, This is Neha. I took contraceptive pill on February 15, 2017. My earlier period was on Feb 8. I had bleeding on Feb 20 I think because of that pill. I had started feeling pain in my Abdominal side from March 11. I thought it will be ok but It didn t for around 20 days and I took some pain killers till the end of march. My doctor advised a sonography test and it was found to be a bulky uterus. The test was done on April 1st. I have been taking medicines for that for last 7 days. But I don t feel any improvement. So the total duration of the pain is last one month. Also my next period was on April 4th. Will the pain be okay? Is it because of that pill (unwanted 72). Or it s normal?

Hi, I think you can go for a pelvic examination by a gynecologist to rule out any infection. Pain can be due to some pelvic infections. You may need some antibiotic and antifungal drugs, oral as well as vaginal. Bulky uterus can be a sign of adenomyosis. It can be treated by hormonal therapy. Talk to your doctor regarding this.
