What Causes Abdominal Cramps While Having Food?

i have diverticulosis and I notice when I eat my abdomen cramps and about 30 minutes after I am gassy and I will have a bowel movement. after it passes I feel better until I eat again. is there something that I should be eating or taking to stop this foul odor?
