What Causes Abdominal Cramps And Light Vaginal Bleeding Post Hysterectomy?

I am in menopause and I had a hysteroscopy and d&c on wednesday. I bled a little and had a little cramping the first 2 days then spotting a little with no cramping. Today I am cramping and bleeding a little. Is this something I should be concerned about? I honestly don t even know if it s a big deal that I bled a little during menopause and if this was necessary to do.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The cramping, bleeding and pain can continue for a few days after the procedure so it is not unusual.

If it is increasing or worsening then you may need to be assessed to see if a possible infection is present however.
If this is the case, then antibiotics would be needed.

I hope this helps
