What Causes Abdominal Cramps After Taking Mononessa?
Okay, I started depo provera around August September of last year. I was put on mononessa birth control pills to stop the bleeding from the depo. I take the regularly, but recently I missed maybe 6 days of pills waiting to get my new pack approved. I started back taking them this Monday on the 6th ever since then I ve been having real bad cramps and bleeding that won t stop. I need help on understanding what is happening
As there was gap of 6 days in the intake of oral contraceptive pills, there is alteration of hormone level at the hypothalamus pitutary axis and the abdomen cramps are secondary to the same. Primary relief with antispasmodic medication as dicyclomine or drotaverine and wait for a next cycle period to get back normal rhythm of menses. But take care not to miss the dosage for such long period of days which will mess up the issue and make you prone to become pregnant with a false sense of security against pregnancy protection.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
