What Causes Abdominal Bloating And Weight Gain While On Cerazette?

Hi, I was on mercilon which worked really well for me but my doctor said because I am now 41 that I was no longer allowed this and has put me on cerazette. My stomach is constantly bloated and i feel ill all the time. I have also gained 7lbs!Are there any alternatives?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Yes it may cause gastritis with bloating abdomen or it may be due to cholestasis lead to indigestion and jaundice. Weight gain is also a side effect of this drug, so you can avoid spicy food and alcohol, avoid smoking and caffeine drinks. Use tablet Pantoprazole before breakfast for one week. If symptoms not improved please consult your treating doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly. Take care.
