What Causes Abdominal Bloating And Pressure While On Kayexalate?
Had my PD cafeter inserted surgically around 3 weeks ago with no signs of infections or any problems so far. Have been doing hemo-dialysis for around 9 months now. My training to switch over to PD is in a few days but I am currently feeling extreme abdominal pressure and bloating. I have tried taking Senokot s & pms-Lactulose with no effect. I haven t had a good bowel movement in a few days and the bloating is getting worse. It is now 4:30am here and the pain from the bloating was severe enough to wake me up and research some answers. The other prescription I received ,Kayexalate, was recommended by the renal doctors if I find myself in this situation. Abdominal pain and bloating. I m back on Hemo for 3 more days before the PD training starts but I am hurting now. Any suggestions?

It may be due to severe gastritis.
You can take antacids like Pantoprazole or Omeprazole for symptomatic relief.
