What Causes Abdominal Bloating After An ERPC Procedure?

Hi I had a missed miscarriage in (March first week) and because the products of conception didn t all come out I had to have an ERPC end of March (29th). My concern is since the Erpc my stomach feels very bloated and full it is indeed very noisy and sounds like bubbles in my tummy . This gets worse after I eat however there is no pain. But my stomach is always noisy!! Is this normal because I have seen my GP and he told me its normal after an operation as we are put to sleep and given lots of oxygen. Is this normal ? please im desperate for answers? Thanks. Nicky

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The bloating is likely due to excess gas. This will eventually subside. Meanwhile, eat small frequent meals, avoid spicy food and carbonated drinks. You may also take Simethicone (available over the counter) to reduce bloating.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi
