What Causes Abdomen Pains With Cramping During A Pregnancy?

Hi, I am 34 weeks 6 days pregnant with twins. I have been having pains in my lower abdomen since yesterday morning. It is not constant, but lasts about 30 seconds everytime, yesterday these cramps was approximately 22 minutes apart, and today it moved to about 8 minutes, and it is getting more severe. I am 34 years old. I was diagnosed with a pulminory embolis at 5 months pregnant, and have been using clexane 40 injections once a day since the diagnosis. Other than that, the pregnancy hasn't really had any problems. The twins were 2kg and 1.8kg at my last checkup, two weeks ago. I will be going for another checkup on Tuesday 10 May.

Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion the intermittent contractions needs to get evaluated for preterm pains. In twins the uterus will be overdistended and there is risk of preterm pains.Take adequate fluids upto 2-3 litres per day and adequate rest.Adequate hydration also relaxes the uterus. But I suggest you to consult doctor to rule out preterm pains. If preterm pain is present then you need medicines to decrease them as you are not term still.
Dont worry.
