Hello,

You have history of getting knocked your leg, now you are experiencing soreness and huge swelling. Swelling, soreness, pain and discomfort is indicative of fracture, ligament / tendon tear, internal trauma, blood clot, etc. You are suggested to get clinically examined by an orthopedic surgeon, get the required blood tests and imaging tests (X-ray, CT, MRI) done to detect the pathology causing you discomfort.

You will be treated accordingly. In the meantime, you can take Combiflam or Naproxen, one SOS after food for relief. Take antacids to avoid acidity. Keep your leg under rest and elevated.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
