What Causes A White Headed Painful Lump On The Sclera?

My right eye felt irritated near the upper lash line beginning yesterday. It felt like there was something grainy there and then swollen. Tonight I noticed what looks like a whitehead pimple on the white of my eye on the side closest to my nose. My eye has been hurting and itching as well. Should I be concerned?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most possible issue with white headed painful lump on the sclera indicates Meibomian gland inflammation most likely.

You require an ophthalmologist consulting for:
- Prescription of antibiotic eye drops as moxifloxacin or others
- Systemic antibiotics as cephalexin or others as per the choice of your doc
- Anti inflammatory medicines with serratiopeptidase and trypsin, chymotrypsin as degrading enzymes to help the resolution of condition in faster way

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
