What Causes A Swollen, Red, Painful Bump On The Shin?

Hi, my husband recently discovered a bump on his lower shin that is swollen, red and painful..without injury to the area. The area around the bump is swollen as well. This is the second time this has occurred. I wondered if there was any suggestions as to what it might be? Thank-you. Jennifer.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

This can be due to many causes but more commonly due to local injury or due to raised uric acid level in thee blood.
So get done serum uric acid level once. A good quality photo with other associated comorbidities, his health status will help in more discussion and his management.

For now apply cold compression and NSAID like aceclofenac with serratiopeptidase will help him.

Hope this helps you.

regards
