What Causes A Shadow In The X-ray Report Of The Spine?

a shadow in my brothers spine was detected through an mri but 4 specialist can not determine what it is he also has a disc problem in his neck he was told he has to have an urgent operation for that..he had severe numbness in his arms for a few months now.. we are frustrated due to not knowing of the shadow in his spine just where his neck is

xray or mri report is to be examined by radiologist if no opinion then second opinion can be taken. is there any problem? if not it may not be any lesion and does not need any treatment
